**New in Version 6**
Manually toggling a site’s theme now adds or removes it from your exceptions list, so you don’t need to re-click whenever you refresh!
**New in Version 5**
Subtly darkens photos and media embeds (you can turn this off from the Options page).
**New in Version 4**
Add a list of exceptions from the default theme (eg. “facebook.com”).
I was tempted to call this “Nicest Inverter”, but it doesn’t actually invert anything. It gives you a dark page, no matter what!
Improvements from Nicer Inverter:
● Dark-ifies pages aggressively, so you’re much less likely to come across pages with bright patches.
● Dark-ifies pages *by default*, so you don’t need to click the extension’s button on every page load.
● Allows you to toggle dark styles on and off without reloading the page.
● Optionally darkens photos and media embeds.
There are a lot of inverters out there, and many of them are great. I’m using Dark Reader[1] right now, and honestly, it’s better than this for most use cases. BUT! Some pages on the internet are dark by default. When you invert a dark page, it becomes light. AGH MY EYES!
This extension will *always* give you a dark background.
You can change the default theme from “Dark” to “Light” by going to Tools -> Extensions and clicking the “Options” link under Dark Theme Everywhere. You can toggle the theme with a hotkey by going to Tools -> Extensions and clicking the “Keyboard shortcuts” link at the bottom.
Now that your browser is nice and dark-themed, you might notice an annoying white flash between pages. It’s a known bug that’s being tracked in Issue 1373[2] and Issue 126341[3]. I wrote another extension to reduce the flicker[4], but the problem will exist to some degree until it’s fixed in Chromium.
Enjoy! Licensed under MIT.

It’s impressive. I would pay for it.
Работает даже там, где другие аналоги косячат. Очень легкий и простой. Simply best!
I wrote a few stylish dark-themes and it takes some time to get dark modes right. Astonishing how DTE does it automagically. A native dark-mode of an web-app is ofc better but if it’s not offered, DTE is a blessing. P.S.: “Check a look” in the settings of DTE to get the native mode switch automated with the domain blacklist.
It did not worked on this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave. God knows?!
please ad an on/off button would help sooo much
Works really well. In fact a little too well. Sometimes it’s a hassle because I have to deactivate it more times than the times I actually use it. Therefore, of course it’s missing some tweaks and adjustments. But I guess I can’t really ask for it to be adjusted for every single site. That could be solved if they just added the option to “work only on some sites” aside to the “in every site except…” that’s already implemented
I tried it on three sites: Facebook, Amazon and Google (Drive/Gmail/Calendar) and it hides critical elements (navigation and other features) on every page. I assume this is unintentional, but it makes the extension unusable for me.
Sure… it makes things dark that are normally forcibly light…
But it also blacks out all theme elements on pages, most images on pages… Some pages are rendered completely useless because there is nothing but text on a black expanse. I’ve had to make a massive array of exceptions for the simple reason that so many pages just don’t work right with this app.
And other pages, like this one, just plain don’t work with it at all.
Pretty much I’m only using it because I haven’t found a better alternative yet….
Doesn’t properly work. Websites flash in white default for a split-second before going to dark. On some sites there are white artifacts (Youtube) that shouldn’t be there.
Works really well, however doesn’t work well on many websites. A lot of images disappear, and any website that already has a dark theme (youtube, reddit, etc.) are usually better with the built in dark theme than this. But you can blacklist sites, which is nice. Overall would recommend.
Works and is simple. 11/10 for reading articles when combined with the disable-html extension.
Good performance, however, no customization so I found it didn’t handle the dark colors as well as darkreader (which I’ve been exploring alternatives to due to the performance).
This is te suce right here

The settings are unstable.I remove exceptions that appeared out of nowhere and they come back later. The default is useless.
it also darkens necessary tabs and makes them invisible.
Amazing extension, works nicely with Salesforce.com and JIRA
Wish I had found this sooner. Works the way I need it to. Thanks!
Works like a charm!
It doesn’t work right on a lot of sights. On some it’s great but on Youtube for example the screen turns white on part of it. Opposite of what I wanted.
Looks great. Blacks are just a little too dark. However, it defaults all pages to dark regardless of the preferences currently.
I’ve removed and re-added the extension, making sure to delete C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\nibjplbnmmklkfnkpecgbffkifmdbjed\
I also checked C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\nibjplbnmmklkfnkpecgbffkifmdbjed\6.0.0_0\options.js and it reflected the preferences i set! (default theme = light)
Version of chrome = 65.0.3325.181
OS = Windows 7 64-bit, Intel HD Graphics 3000, display fully calibrated
awesome.. the best af all dark theme
Please update it. It looks very promising
Great extension. Does what says on packet. Color scheme is awesome.
DOESNT WORK WITH SHOW MY HOMEWORK ;(
Only one issue: On some pages, it’ll hide some images. However, the dark theme is toggleable, so you’re able to read the image for as long as you need to by turning it off, then you just turn it back on again.
