Every time you tab into a time-eating website, Delayed Gratification gives you 15 seconds to make sure you actually wanted to do that. Because, let’s face it, it’s mostly just muscle memory at this point.
Click on the hourglass icon in your browser to add “bad websites” and update your time settings.
NOTE: Delayed Gratification is currently in beta. Please contact [email protected] with any bugs or suggestions.
Very good, but very basic. Specifically what I would like is the ability for this extension to kick in only at certain times- like when I’m meant to be working. But when it’s the weekend I’d rather not have to wait to get my gratification!
Does exactly what it says and that’s good enough for me!
Excellent app.
Exactly what I needed, would love the option to turn on a counter.
This is exactly what I needed.
Question: Is there anything similar that delays the opening of apps on android phones?
Exceptional
Almost perfect! There could be in options a chance to put custom text on screen while your waiting! 🙂
The best extension on delayed gratification so far. The difference is that this one has a timer which lets you control how long it will take for the website to be blocked again.
Great idea. Would be nice if you could add multiple URLs at once instead of adding one by one.
The idea is brilliant, and execution is tidy. Definitely can be worked on further to have more features but is great as-is.
This is perfect.
Love this – it’s perfect for dedicated, but easily distracted people (like me). Gives you just enough time to question yourself, & then do the right thing. Thanks for a job well done!
Amazing
perfect. Other site blockers are easy enough to disable and forget about. This one can be disabled, but the delay is short enough that it’s easier to either wait or (even better) take the time to change your mind.
This is what I needed – does the job simply and is effective!
Now a few things that would be nice (but not necessary):
– Quotes on the delay screen ?
– Number of tries to go to these websites. Would be hilarious to see my own attempts to distract myself. And maybe it improves over time by using this extension ?
– Some pre-recommended websites like reddit or facebook.
Really liking this… just wish it wasn’t always on. I’d love the ability to set a custom schedule for when to enable the blocking (e.g. M-F 8am-12pm & 1-5pm).
Also found this on /r/getdisciplined.
A few suggestions:
– Make it so you can change the delay time for different websites.
– Custom delay times.
– Maybe make the delay screen customizable.
I love the idea! I just wish I could change a few things 🙂
every blocker can be circumvented, this is exactly the type of demotivation you really need because it gives you time to think about it and change your habits
Works as advertised
SUper! 🙂
Saw this on reddit.com/r/getdisciplined
Great tool! I hope this gets really popular in the future. You deserve it. 🙂
Love the concept, easy enough to keep myself from mindlessly wasting time
Fantastic idea! Really makes you think and puts you back on track.
Excellent! Does what it says in the tin.
