This extension is a site launcher to provide quick links directly from the autocomplete suggestions in the address bar to open file converting sites. Please be advised that the extension itself does not provide file conversion functionality.
When you type in your browser’s address bar, our algorithm will scan the query you typed. Once the algorithm identifies an intent for converting documents triggered by queries such as “PDF” or “JPEG”, it will provide you a quick link in the autocomplete to launch the third-party website for you to convert the file. All this process takes place inside your address bar.
In this extension, we support six third-party websites. If you want to change the default site, you can make the change in the settings of this extension.
Permissions used and reasons:
1. Change your default search engine – In order to provide the functionality in the autocomplete suggestions to third-party sites, we require this permission to change your default search settings to my-fileconverter.net, powered by Yahoo. This extension supports Yahoo, Google, and Bing. If you want to use a different one, you can go to the Settings of this extension and make the change.
2. Access to “contextMenus” – We require this permission in order to access the extension’s drop-down menu and add more items to help you use the extension.
3. Access to “Notifications” – This permission is optional. Once the algorithm recognizes a relevant match of intent from your address bar, it will notify you.
How do I remove the extension?
1. Click on Chrome’s menu icon on the top right
2. Click on Settings
3. On the left side of the window, click on Extensions
4. Choose the extension from the list that you want to remove
5. Click on the remove button
6. On the pop-up window, click on the Remove button again to confirm the action
