This extension blocks animated images (*.GIF and *.WebP formats by default) to save bandwidth usage and to improve page loading speed. The extension can get enabled or disabled from its toolbar button. Once the extension is enabled, no animated resource is fetched from the internet, instead, a local image is replaced by the original one. Note that the user can still selectively load blocked images by using the right-click context menu option over the images.
As of version 0.1.1, it is possible to add or remove image formats that the extension is blocking on the options page. Also, it is possible to turn off the extension entirely just by clicking on the toolbar button
Does not work
worked for me after i enabled “Allow access to file URLs” in addon detail page.
i wish instead of the minus sign on blocked gifs it was the first frame of the gif
thank you it works but we need whitelist blacklist
works with GIF, but you have to know there is HTML5 too
It works!
Improvement suggestion: block the stupid “.gifv” too!
the best
Does not work
I’m bombarded with these flipping gif images on Facebook. This doesn’t stop them. I hoped it would work…but it doesn’t. 🙁
Со своей задачей справляется.
always work
hello
during browsing , in some pages we see giant blue circles
it ruins the page’s view
Everyone is right, it’s useless!
эти значки огромные. по крайней мере в мобильном хроме. kiwi browser. они больше, чем исходные картинки были.
Doesn’t work, I still see animated gifs all over but it does slow down every page load and interfere with other non-gif images.
Didn’t work as far as I could see
blockt keine gifs aber alles andere. ich brauche etwas was nervende gifs blockiert.
totally useless, does not block gifs or prevent animated gifs from running automatically. Waste of time
