With the Houzz button, you can get inspired by beautiful home design every time you browse the web. Open a new tab and you’ll see a gorgeous home design photo from Houzz.
You’ll view stunning kitchens, dreamy spa bathrooms, relaxing bedrooms, cozy living spaces and breathtaking landscapes.
The button also lets you save photos from other websites to a Houzz ideabook. See a kitchen or sofa you love on the web? Just click the button and save the image to view later on Houzz.
Add the Houzz button to install both features. You can easily turn off either one at any time.
Good experience
Whoever is the PM needs to really think about how much value do you really add by hijacking new tab without getting users’ consent first — ask yourself do you open new tab to want to see it? Does it consist of at least 80% of ur own use cases?
Houzz, please sort review by recency and take a look at how many negative reviews are there. Is this really how you want to develop your customer relationship or are you defeating your own purpose?
Bug, il me demande de me connecter sur Houzz alors que je suis déjà connecté 🙁
Was working great and I loved it. So useful for capturing images for inspiration. Now it doesn’t work though. I click on the symbol when it appears in a photo and the screen just freezes. Really disappointing.
get it off now!
I really wanted to like this extension since I use Houzz a lot to store photos and ideas for projects. However this app just DOES NOT WORK. if I right click an image to save to houzz, the image disappears and I get the 3 green dots refreshing over and over again on a blank screen. if I try accessing the app via the icon on the image, the screen goes dark and hangs. pressing the actual icon on the toolbar again does nothing. What is the point of this app if it doesn’t actually work??
Not as useful as I expect. need a lot of improve! button not always work, a lot of time it even freeze the page. make the research more difficult.
I love this extension…when it works. I used it a lot when I first added it and then, one day, it just quit working. I would click the save button and nothing would happen. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it still wouldn’t work. After much diddling around, repairing it, disabling and re-enabling, I even uninstalled Chrome at one point, I finally got it to work…once. Then, it quit again. 🙁 I miss it. Very useful when it works.
Pretty helpful tool for most sites, except that I cannot save images from my Google Photos webpage to Houzz. Anyone know how to make it work? I guess the workaround is to download every image then re-upload it to Houzz manually but that’s pretty terrible compared to the button working like it should.

Liked the idea as I am using a combo of Pinterest, Evernote and Excel for my planning, but way too many issues – default settings make Houzz your homepage? Not ok. Then when trying to save just got three green dots (using chrome/macbook pro, OS and browser up to date).
It has REALLY gotta stop hijacking my New Tab page… I really don’t want to answer the same “want Houzz to be your New Tab page?” question over and over!
Overrides new tab settings and it not possible to disable this. Unusable!
Terrible – doesn’t work! Aside from hijacking new tabs it didn’t save anything I tagged. I spent over 2 hours saving images into my ideabooks but when i went to the Houzz website not a single image was saved! Absolutely infuriating! I’d give it zero stars if I could!
Extension seems fine, giving it 1 star because if hijacks your home page. There’s just no excuse for doing that.
Changes your new tab content by default. When you disable it, it tells you that you might have to re-enable extensions that customize the new tab. If you knew about this limitation, don’t implement the completely absurd feature that you knew no-one would want. Made me want to stop using the app and site altogether.
The problem with this extension is everything it does beyond what you downloaded it for (adding to your ideasbook from other sites). There is no reason it should be hijacking the new tab/start tab and if that is a feature it should be disabled and pointed out as an opt-in feature. The extension also has a bug right now that messes up dropdown menus where it pushes some content of the dropdown out of view.
I really distaste that installing this “Button” takes of the new tab screen. It’s seriously off putting and raised my distrust of Houzz.
Changes the default on a new tab. How stupid.
для новых вкладок используется расширение Speed deal.
Но расширение Houzz почему-то решило отобрать это право. То есть либо расширение Houzz управляет содержимым новой вкладки, либо это делает стандартный функционал Chrome
