use google search without the mouse
keyboard shortcuts for use with google search
j/k navigate google search results
o to open the selected link in a new tab
enter to open the selected link in the current tab
shift+o or shift+enter to open the page in a new window
/ selects the search box
esc unselects the search box
note: set up your own search engine keyword for google for total mouse-free access
chrome://chrome/settings/searchEngines
my normal search sequence is as follows
ctrl-L g space stuff j j j o
this does a google search on “stuff”, cursors to the 3rd item and opens it in a new tab
google search is a trademark of Google Inc. Use of this trademark is subject to Google Permissions.
Doesn’t seem to work anymore. Installing and using google.ca or google.com/ncr doesn’t allow j and k to be used to navigate (instead it jumps to the search bar).
The k icon stays greyed out.
I assume the last google javascript update broke this extension.

Thank goodness. I have been wanting this for a long time. Just installed it and loving it.
In your blog post you mention turning off Google Instant Search. I feel like that information should be added to the Details here.
I wish Google would implement first-class keyboard shortcuts for Search like with their other services.
