# PlantUML
Renders UML diagram as defined in a text file. For full syntax of the text file, see:
http://plantuml.sourceforge.net/index.html
1. Install the extension from Chrome Web Store.
2. Check “Allow access to file URLs” in chrome://extensions/.
3. Open local or remote text file with UML diagram definition in browser (the text starts with @startuml).
4. See the rendered UML diagram!
If the plugin stops working after update, uncheck and check the “Allow access to file URLs” in chrome://extensions/ again.
If it does not help, clear the cache (strange Chrome caching behavior). I do not know, what Chrome is doing, but I had to reload background page and popup page of the extension after update.

Even with fiddling with the permissions and adding the @startuml in the xml file (which had to be recognized, because it was generated by staruml), the picture was broken.
Doesn’t work at all. Only shows a broken image icon for any UML files (even a tiny file of only four lines except header and footer).
In addition, I’m afraid it’ll be a serious security pitfall to send user data to an external server if it is done without any prior permission or notification.
I used to love this tool, but It recently stopped working on all my machines – do not see the diagram anymore!
It does not work from several months ago on.I don’t know how to fix it.
The png or svg image cannot display in browser.
Anyone know how to fix it? I can’t find the answer with Googling.
I like this, but it can’t work now in my chrome browser. I don’t know how to fix it.
the image could not display in browser and the request failed in debug mode. like this:
Referrer Policy: no-referrer-when-downgrade
Provisional headers are shown
Sec-Fetch-Dest: empty
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/80.0.3987.132 Safari/537.36
the svg formats should be displayed in object tags otherwise embedded links are not clickable.
it is very cool, but there is a problem that the viewer will return to text for a seconds.
It doesn’t support the newpage command
Very useful. I like that it refreshes when I save updates to the file in my text editor.
Found an issue with mindmap diagram that if the diagram is too wide (left-right) then the content from the right is cut.
Otherwise, a great tool to have
Рендрит через раз. Чаще показывает иконку поврежденного файла.
Every helpful plugin! Thanks!
UMLの表示幅が大きくなってくると、ブラウザですべてを表示できなくなる。
scaleで調整するとなんとか収まることがあるが、なにかと不便。。
vraiment très pratique !
it doesn’t work
Wow.!! greate!
If the UML file is complicated, then UML diagram can’t be display completely.
It would not parse the preprocessors ‘!include…’
Couldn’t use it.
I have been using this for a while thinking it was completely generated locally. Now that I understand it sends the data to the cloud, without warning, I have downgrade to 3 stars because I cannot use it. It would have been 5 stars if it was all locally generated.
hopeful
русский алфавит формируется кракозябрами
I like this tool very much, and it did help me a lot.
the reason why I gave 4 stars other than 5 is that
the Chinese font used in this tool SUCKS, which makes the EXTREMELY UGLY pics whenever Chinese character is involved.
Excellent. Now I can use Notepad++ to create the UML files while viewing them in Chrome on another screen.
+1 for auto-refreshing the files when they’re saved!
Great. Can you please also handle @startditaa, which makes DITAA ascii art diagrams?
I wish the plantuml version was more up-to-date or there were instructions on how to update it. Otherwise, this is one of the most effective tools I have in my shed.
