An easy way to rename the title of any tab, without changing any of the tab’s content! Simply click on the Tab Titler extension, type in a new name, and voila. Your new tab name will be displayed until you leave or refresh the page.
The Tab Titler is ideal for anyone who is regularly frustrated by incomplete, in-concise, or just generally useless tab names. Also useful for when you want to rename embarrassing tabs.
Super awesome features include:
– you don’t even have to CLICK on the text box to start typing a new tab name. It just knows.
– you don’t even have to click on the ‘confirm’ button. Just press enter.
– you don’t even have to click ‘close’ once you’ve renamed a tab. It’ll just close for you. It’s that good.
A very weak one for the purpose.
Didn’t work 🙁
No longer works. Cool idea – wish it worked!
I loved it.
Just a note to anybody reading this, it won’t work on:
-New Tab
-Any sites that change their name while using it.
-Anything connected to Google.
Oh, and the name also sticks even if you don’t use the tab.
It also won’t stick if you go to another tab.
ALSO also, it doesn’t stick while reloading ‘cuz I think all chrome does is deletes the link and re-enters it.
Hope you found it helpful
I use it for Odyssey. I have multiple students and thus need a quick way to access each. The name reverts to Odyssey when you go back to gradebook to set or change anything. Very frustrating to have to redo each time I need to get in and out. I will remove the extension. Let me know when you fix this issue.
Not working
Doesnt work
Not working under Chrome build 67.0.3396.99
Doesn’t work at all. Tried RenameTab and it works exactly as this one should have.
Does what I want. I understand others would like permanent naming for tabs but for shopping and card making this is perfect!
Perhaps have the option for both? Underneath where you confirm, have a tick-box that makes it permanent.
ideal for watching movies at work
Doesn’t work in Chrome version 61.0.3163.100
Great idea, didn’t work for me.
Useful, but shame it doesn’t stick when the page reloads. It would be SUPER useful if it could tell whether the page really changed name or just reloaded (flash of a different URL, then back to what it was)
just what I look for
Damnit Rachel, why did you not tell me about this?
I also love ducks.
