Want to make news articles more fun? This extension will replace words as suggested by XKCD comic 1288, 1625, and 1679. Clicking the extension button will open a new tab with the current page, with specified text replaced. Here are some of the replacements:
“witnesses” becomes “these dudes I know”,
“allegedly” becomes “kinda probably”,
“new study” becomes “Tumblr post”,
“rebuild” becomes “avenge”,
“space” becomes “spaaace”,
“Google Glass” becomes “virtual boy”,
“smartphone” becomes “pokedex”,
“electric” becomes “atomic”,
“senator” becomes “elf-lord”,
“car” becomes “cat”,
“election” becomes “eating contest”,
“congressional leaders” becomes “river spirits”,
“Homeland Security” becomes “Homestar Runner”, and
“could not be reached for comment” becomes “is guilty and everyone knows it”.
It didn’t even work on my Chromebook.
