Update: Added deadlock feature, allows you to have your tabs reopened even if you close them after warning. Selecting this option is not recommended. Deadlock can be found in Lock it extension options.
As a solution for lacking functionality in Chrome, I see this as being very helpful. Thanks to Brandon Nunn for commenting that this only works on new tabs created after the extension has been installed… I think the most common thing for people to do is to install the extension and then try it on open tabs only to see it doesn’t work. The developer should put a comment in the description about this.

Très utile; n’a pas d’équivalent.
Il faut parfois au départ cliquer plusieurs fois. Et il faut de bons yeux pour repérer si le cadenas est ouvert ou fermé.

This Extension has malware in it and is not safe, also is copyright of other extensions.
i would not download it.

It works and it’s so much easier to use than other similar add-ons. Great, thank you!
The only thing is, when I open a link from Locked tab (i.e. Twitter), the newly opened tab sometimes inherits the Locked state, which is not welcomed. It’s a hassle to give a confirmation to close those new tabs.

How…do…you…use…it? I’ve forgotten and it’s not in the description. The obvious way would be to click on a tab, but no…

To lock a certain website (at domain level), just click the “Lock it” icon next to the address bar and you will have to confirm a pop-up message to refresh or leave pages from this domain. Also works after restarting the browser. Super useful!

So far so good. I was expecting a tab operation icon not an app toolbar icon.

Thank you for this, Deadlock is fantastic too, I use it incase I accidently close a freelancing site, this way I am always online!

Works ok but has some glitches
1) it closes the last tab if there’s another Chrome window open
2) it behaves weird if you have your own pinned tab (then your pinned tab is used as the blank one normally created by the extension)

This app is terrible. I installed the app, restarted Chrome, and locked various webpages. The first time I try to leave the website after I lock the tab, it asks me if I want to leave. If I say yes, it leaves, but when I go back to that website, the lock icon appears locked again, but when I close the tab, I don’t get any message anymore. Apparently, if I decide I don’t want to stay on the website one time, then the app will not lock it ever again even if I unlock it by clicking the icon to unlock and then lock it again. Why doesn’t the app just say “Page is locked. Unlock it to leave page.” and then make you click the lock icon to close the tab?
Update: I revise the above to say that, if I unlock and then lock a tab after I’ve already locked it once for the same webpage, a pop does appear again asking me if I want to leave. Still, the app is lame. A true Lock Tab app would simply not respond when you tried to close the tab or leave the webpage until you clicked the lock icon to unlock it. I don’t want to answer a pop-up every time I want to leave. I don’t have to answer a pop up when I go home and my door is locked. I unlock the door. Also, it would be helpful if the app put a little lock symbol on the actual locked tab in place of the “X” so it is obvious it is locked. This app could be so much better, but it is not.

It is helpful in protecting my pinned tabs but, as other reviews have said, two things are really annoying:
1) You can’t close your browser without getting a dialogue – for every one of your locked tabs.
2) It locks the website not your tab, so you get a dialogue even for tabs you do not need to be protected.

Poor usability: icon is barely visible and telling the difference between locked and unlocked is a squinty affair. Tab Modifier is a great extension if you’re looking for similar functionality.
