People seem to be confused. It just works.
You add the extension, you click the app icon in your browser toolbar, and you get 3 purple buttons, just like the images for the extension. You click one of the two download buttons of your choice, and that’s it – the downloaded json appears in your downloads. IF you also want to convert that JSON to a csv/xml document, then you click that 3rd button which takes you to their web site that does json converters. There is NO REQUIREMENT to use their website or converter to download your json file.
no funciona
It works perfectly for me on Chrome 86.0.42.*, Windows 10. I was looking for a program that would export my history and bookmarks before making a clean slate. JSONs were created instantly, and I can be converted into CSV through a website. I used https://csvjson.com/json2csv which has no limit for conversion. Many 1-star reviews concern ease-of-use and unable to understand that you can google other websites that can convert JSON to other formats.
It works. You get a flat array of all bookmarks.

I have exported my bookmarks to json file from google chrome. Is there anyway to import it back to chrome with the same json? I have changed my machine and want to switch to new one.
works
Did what it said it would do! Huge table of .json like so:
{

THIS EXTENSION WORKS BEAUTIFULLY, AND SEAMLESSLY, AND IS PROBABLY THE EASIEST EXTENSION THAT I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. MANY KUDOS, AND MANY THANK YOUS !!!
SINCERELY,
HOSEA
Doesn’t work.
Useless non-functional junk. Just want a simple way to export & restore cookies, like from different portable Chromes & combine them, same way IE & Firefox & other real browsers always can =)
Works quickly and is intuitive. Users who don’t want to open the online converter can simply uncheck the checkbox in the dialog box — or if you forget to do that, just close the new browser tab that comes up.
If you open the JSON file in Wordpad (in Windows 10) and save the file as type RTF, the URLs will become active links.
Simple job to do and it was easily done. The formatting is lack-luster, but all the info was organized quickly!
I Cant download json file
THIS APP JUST DOESNT WORK. REDIRECTS TO ANOTHER CONVERTER FILE AND YES, MY CHROME IS TOTALLY UPDATED. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! NOT EVEN SURE MY CHROME BOOKMARKS AND HISTORY IS SAFE OR THIS SCAM CHROME EXTENSION HAS JUST TAKEN EVERYTHING AWAY!
EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTED!
“Extension requires ‘Manage your downloads’ permission”
Rather than snark over and over, explain how to do it! Not obvious.
Ok, I got exported my history, but now how to import?
Works quickly and is intuitive. Users who don’t want to open the online converter can simply uncheck the checkbox in the dialog box.
To developer, you can use JSON.stringify(historyRecordString, null, 4); or something similar to generate a pretty output of the JSON file instead of putting everything in one line. As much as I want my history records, I also want them to be readable 🙂
I like it except it limits to the last 500,000 history records.
does not save file, forces page redirect to json converter
Brings you to a page so you can upload it to a converter. Gave me no results and showed me no file. It only brings you to this page to make you download yet another piece of software. What kind of software and what spyware is in it is anyones guess. AVOID THIS ENTIRELY.
Grande sacada
This does exactly what it says it will do, got my bookmarks in JSON perfectly
good
Junk!
