Just by harnessing your normal searches, you can build libraries, plant trees, send emergency aid, give clean water, and more. Choose your favorite charity to support!
Search for a Cause changes the default search provider in Chrome. Each time you search, you will see search results (powered by Bing) and search ads. The ads raise money, and we give a portion of it to the cause you are supporting.
When you search, you’ll earn hearts. Donate your hearts to your favorite charity to tell us where we should give the money you’re raising!
People like you have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity just by surfing the web. Join them by adding the extension now.

Obviously, I hate that this uses Bing, but I understand that Google won’t work here. Maybe another search engine could be supported, like DuckDuckGo or Ecosia.
Noice?
The searching is fine but its missing googles features like dice and clac. Also the ads blend in to well with the searches making it hard to find the thing I’m looking for.
TL;DR: Bing image, video, shopping, etc. are underrated, and when I click “Images” on a Bing based platform, it would be nice to get Bing image. video, shopping, etc. results. Also, definitions, tools, and Random Number Generation features would be welcome.
I really like the idea, and I know the Bing problem has been repeated a million times, but I see a bigger problem. If you want to do Bing, go all out. It has MANY problems, but almost all of the advantages Bing has are washed out by this. Advanced, image and video search, news(ish), shopping and many more are not included. Also when I click on images, videos, shopping, etc. it brings me back to Google. Bing shopping, images, video, and news are underrated, and its only problem (search) is more Google just being good rather than Bing being bad. I have a ton of hope for it, and I’m starting to recommend it.
P.S. If there was a way to add calculator, definitions, color picker, metronome, and random number generator features (roll a die, spinner, flip a coin, and random number generator) along with adding Bing video, shopping, images etc. then I would say its better than pure chrome. Plus charity!
nice making me feel that i am helping charity and i bookmark all my favourite websites. just in case i cant find in search
To the people who don’t like it, just search what you want, click “Images” and then once you are redirected to google click “All”. Solved
Otherwise, I would highly recommend this search engine, as I really like Tab For A Cause
I got recommended to this extension by HAI (Half as Interesting)/Wendover Productions
The way how Tab for a Cause and Search for a Cause work is fantastic, as I myself usually forget about charity and have no time to devote to it. The site always reminds me to donate a few hearts but I would like to have a few changes:
1. Catch Up with the Speed. The site should load a bit faster.
2. Don’t be so tacky. Try to design the site beautifully.
3. Make a heart worth more. 1/10 of a cent is too low to catch up with the need all around the world.
it is great because it is for charity, but tab for a cause doesn’t effect search results. if they used google search results and had a few ads up top i would use it. make it look more like google as well
I really want to use search for a cause with tab for a cause, but I simply can not the reason is the search engine. I do not blame search for a cause for this but you guys need to find a way to work with Google. You do great job with wrong partner.
Good Concept. Bad Design. Cons. The Theme Is Not Good. It takes pretty long to get rid of it. They Pretend They Care About feedback but we all now that is going to where the proof of epstein committing suicide, no where. Pros. It Donates to charity which is always honorable
I love it, period.
Its very good, But it defiantly lacks what i thing is an essential to a browser.
This search engine sucks ngl, but since it’s a charity thing, i’ll give it 4 stars. The engine is ugly, yeah that’s it. Maybe in the future it’ll look better. But for rn imma stick to my web page.
i just want a way to donate to charity without money so i love this idea
Used to be better than it is now.
I’ve decided to remove the extension because while I like supporting Tab for a Cause through Search for a Cause, the search engine is simply bad. After scrolling through a page of results, the results repeat and only change in order, not the next page of sites.
Perhaps if the search results were based off Google, this would work much better.

It’s a nice idea. I’m deciding between this and Ekoru.org which cleans oceans with every search and they are hydro-powered. Ocean plastics are becoming ridiculous
I love search for a cause. A plus is the fact that it doesn’t collect as much information as most free sites like google. I strongly believe you should advertise the beta of search for a cause on tabs for a cause so that more people are informed of this fantastic extension. It’s fast and works well, with seemingly no bugs or issues that need to be attended to. Fabulous work.
Edit: I believe that a dark mode should be added, or add a customization for searching the web like the widgets and background for Tab for a Cause. Something extra to appeal to others (mainly because I like having a dark theme).
A free and easy way to help people. Love it
I love the concept! However, Bing search just isn’t as good as Google search. As a result of that, I’m not going to continue using this extension. If I could use a search engine that’s not Bing, this would be at least 4 stars.
It changes nothing, and I get to help people in need at the same time. Truly wonderful
Listen to the reviews: Don’t power it with Bing! Everyone dislikes it. Seriously, this is a problem. I intend to use it, but please don’t use Bing anymore. Give me better searches, please-listen to us.
But, worthwhile to donate to the water charity that uses investment to put small donations to big use.
I discovered this through Tab for a Cause, which I have been using for a long time. It is a great way to raise money for charity. I understand that it is still in beta, but it does need significant revisions. It does not have a calculator in the tab or in the search bar. It does not have definitions. It lacks the overview of articles/other websites. It activates in incognito, no matter what, and prevents the user from searching without logging in. I do not understand how this happens, especially given that I have disabled it in incognito and that this phenomenon does not occur with tab for a cause. Regardless of its flaws, I acknowledge that it is still in a stage of beta development and nobody should expect it to be perfect yet.
Sad it uses Bing, but good concept.
Maybe add a search count on every search engine, probably a bubble that you can customize the position of, so you can put it anywhere.
I really like the idea but as a developer I cannot use this. Day to day when trying to find specific answers to technical questions, BING just doesn’t cut the mustard. The results are just poor. In my personal life I may be able to abide bing, but since I work on my personal laptop I just can’t have this app installed. Such a shame, please change over to Google search backend.
