If you have any questions about the tabXpert session and tab manager, please contact [email protected].
It will auto open up all tabs in the last session after start, no matter what. Too stupid.
Excellent.
1) Can you make the pop up window bigger ?
(have more than 100’s tab group now).
2) Ca you make TabXper as Home page of chrome ?
Usually I select a tab group to start my work….
Happy to give you a donation for this excellent work
I’ve tried about a dozen session and tab managers, trying to move away from Session Buddy (due to slow development), this is hands down, and by far, the best one out of the bunch (with a bit of a learning curve). Also, extremely responsive dev(s), you can tell a lot of love and thought went into this.
Only missing integration with the new native features (e.g. tab groups, window naming, reading list, etc), but none of the other extensions I tried had that either, so I guess we’re all waiting for API availability.
What type of trial mean when I use to sync?
So far so good. Tried about 5 other tab managers, but so far this is the best.
This is amazing. I’m having a hard time figuring out why it’s completely free. It does everything other tab managers do, but way better. I love how I can close the window normally outside of the app and it doesn’t just disappear, but shows in the closed sessions tab. I love how there’s a closed tab history inside of the session itself.
One feature that would be nice; upon clicking on one of my browser windows, the session inside of the tabXpert window would highlight as well, so that when I move back and forth outside of tabXpert, I can tell at a glance which window I’m looking at.
Regardless, I’d absolutely recommend anybody that has a tab addiction give this a try. I’ll definitely pay for it when the option is available!
Excellent extension. I think you could add support for more languages, support for tabs that play sound (sound icon on tabs that play sound and silence the site when clicking), option to compare duplicate tabs and more tab suspension options (disable tab suspension and other options like selecting specific windows to suspend) … I think it would be better than it already is! Thank you.
I have spent an embarrassing amount of time trying out different tab and session manager extensions: OneTab, Workona, Toby, Cluster, FreshStart, Tabs Outliner, Too Many Tabs, TabCloud, Synctab, Tab Session Manager, Tabli…. What I’ve been looking for is an extension that makes it easy to save a window full of tabs, restore and edit/replace it later, and sync with the cloud, and ideally also functions as a good tab manager for currently open tabs. I think I have finally found it. This extension does all that and more, going beyond even my high standards. It saves windows *automatically* with no action on my part. It has a simple, elegant interface that makes it easy to search both open and closed tabs together and quickly jump to the one you want. I don’t have to remember whether I closed the tab or not. I don’t have to think twice about closing a window, because I know it will be saved. Truly a game changer. Thank you!
This is what an extension should be like. Tabs Sync is just awesome. Access your tabs from anywhere / any device. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Hi Andrey Kiyanovsky,
I am trying to use and test this extension tabXpert with more than +600 tabs, organized in about 6 groups, but it is not working and hanging everytime.
The error behavior is the following:
– If I try to load a previous window session with +100 tabs, if I have set the option to “load tabs in supended mode”, then all the tabs are loaded but all the tabs in the window crashes and the extension crashes, and the window session and tabs doesnt work.
– If I try to load a previous window session with +100 tabs, and I have set the option “load tabs in active mode”, then the new window session tries to load all the tabs, but it gets in an infinite loop and never ends loading the tabs.
It seems that with very small tab window sessions are working, with less than 20 tabs, but with more tabs seems there is a terrible double loop hanging everything.
I would recommend you can check the loading loop you are using to load previous sessions, because there seems to be something wrong or not optimized which is breaking it.
Aside from the critical problem with retrieving back old sessions, the extension is good, and better than other tab managers, however I can not use it until the problem is fixed because it makes my Chrome sessions completely broken.
Hope you can fix it, and thank you for the extension and the work put in it. I will surely use it and pay for it if those bugs are fixed. Thanks.
My porn has never before been so neatly organized
– I wasn’t looking for this, I was shopping for a more reliable version of “would you like to restore the last session” thing but it’s so polished I tried it out.
– the video presentation is too tiresome to watch. I almost skipped it. You should have some slides
– The google doc that is the help needs an update on the headers. Better yet remove them cause you’ll keep forgetting to update them. And they’re not worth it to be honest. People that arrive to a help doc are already committeed. They’lll go though the hardship of control-f. On the other hand having an old ToC made me wonder if you’re peeking at my saved .. oh wait
– people call sessions a whole set of windows. You’re calling a window a session. It made me wonder if you actually had found a way to serialize unfinished inputs and properly do cold storage of a web page. See? You already had my respect.
– for the love of me I can’t get the shortcuts to work. Was looking for a way to automate storing every single individual window. Ideally be able to set up a boss button and dump all of my windows without worrying if some weird corner condition of chrome will make me lose them again.
– help tips show nothing when hovered, you propably already know that but you might not know that your feature names are hard to figure out. Maybe be more descriptive or get a native english speaker to rewrite them?
– great suspender integration is ADORABLE. Bonus points if now and then you offer to fix bookmarks formatted under chrome://blah . It’s just a regex and the user will want to blow you afterwards.
aaah I wish I could send proper feedback. If you figure out which user saved a TON of pornhub URLs today feel free to contact me. There’s other ways I can help as well.
Me gusta… probando
i figured out a bug was happening between onetab and tabxpert, forcing tabxpert to always restore session; for anyone interested disable onetabs ”always open onetab on browser start” and it goes away.
with that out of the way- its amazingly useful, and one of the fastest and most lightweight of its genre
Keeps your tabs organized when you hop between research topics.
Where can I find the release notes?
Simply the best! This extension go beyond its simple premisse of sync your windows and tabs, open and closed ones, through devices and you can also reopen them unloaded and copy titles and URLs from all those tabs. A must for a tabaholic as me hahaha two suggestions: now that the update amplified the horizon of this extension, you could integrate the “auto-unloading” system from the Auto Tab Discard extension. The other suggestion is creating a “return carriage” escape symbol for the copying title/URL system, like a “%n”, for example, so I can make lists with URLs and their titles separated by a line. Anyway, you’re doing a great job. Thank you so much 🙂
I rarely take the time to review apps, software or extensions, but tabXpert is worth the review! I tried about 12 different tab/window managers until I found tabXpert. It had all the main features I was looking for and THEN SOME (e.g., click and drag tabs, icloud sync, ability to to merge windows, name windows, and search etc). The automatic real-time sync and history of closed windows and tabs are both incredibly reliable and helpful features. My old laptop has randomly crashed on me a couple of times and each time tabXpert saved every tab. The days of tab closing anxiety and post-crash panic attacks are things of the past. I also love how I can easily access it right from my chrome extension menu bar; I wasn’t a fan of the tab managers that would only open in a new tab.
There are only a couple additional features I wish tabXpert had. First, the ability to create sub-collections or subfolders in the main window and the ability to ‘Quick Sort’ tabs and remove duplicates (similar to the features in the Cluster chrome extension).
Overall FANTASTIC extension! So glad I found it!
I usually work by having tons of browser tabs and windows open. This is by far the best tab manager out there. It works in the background and aligns with the way we work. Love it!
I noticed that if i open the new tab page and close all the other tabs, after a short period of time the last closed tab automatically reopens (replacing the new tab page). Can this be fixed? Thanks in advance.
Impressive, it would be perfect if someday it’s supporting for firefox!
Very powerful and flexible extension that’s been a game changer in helping boost my productivity and organizing parts of my life. However, this extension is as of yet incompatible with Chrome’s native Tab Groups feature, forcing you to recreate each previously configured group for every window you restore through this extension, which gets tedious very quickly. Are there any plans to integrate support for also storing created tab group properties (colors, name, position) into the extension? I’d love to be able to properly make use of both the improved tab management of Chrome with the phenomenal window mangagement of tabXpert. That one issue aside, kudos to the developer for all their great work!
Great extension, how can I disable auto session saving, I don’t want to save all sessions just want to save manually.
I wanted to really like this. I switched from Tabli, but now I am going back. I really like the functionality and the speed of the extension. The session saving and syncing is nice. However, the most used feature for me is the search…and it does NOT work properly. Searching should show matching tabs that are in active windows, along with a list of closed windows with matching tabs. This does not work. “Active Window” tabs are actually in closed windows most of the time and when I click on one it will open a new window (along with the dozens of other tabs associated with that window). This is a HUGE issue for me. I really hope it is just a bug that can be easily squashed. In its current state this extension is not helpful to me.
This is amazing plugin! syncing session and syncing devices is amazing! it’s makes my work as a site builder so much easier. jumping from one project to another without eating all the computer’s ram and cpu. Amazing!!!!
It would be great to have the option to save separate windows as one session. but anyway it’s amazing even without that option!
* it would be amazing if it would sync the tab groups also!
